The damage was noticed at about 08.30 on Sunday 14th January by the house owner. The owners believe that the wall was not damaged at 11pm on Saturday evening.
From the angle of strike it appears that a vehicle reversed into the wall pushing the stones into the garden. Any stone work which was left on the carriageway after the incident had been neatly placed back onto the pedestrian refuge indicating either that the driver did this or that there is an as yet unidentified good samaritan who saw the damage and cleared it up.
Will any person who saw the damage caused and can give us any further details please contact the Parish Clerk.
This has confirmed, yet again, that the A357 through the village is not suitable for heavy traffic.
